A further advantage of our compact modules is the small size of these highly dynamic drive systems. In summary: Güdel drive units are almost universally applicable.

The ideal configuration of your drive chain consists of:

• Angle or planetary gearbox
• Pinion
• Rack

The rack can be supplied precision cut or hardened and ground. The values given are values for shock-free operation, good lubrication and stiff arrangement of the pinion.
A safety factor for tooth root stress S_F ≥ 1.4 and a safety factor for Hertzian stress S_H ≥ 1.0 is taken in account.

Depending on your experiences and the application a safety factor S_B ≈ 1.0 ... 4.0 has to be considered. The traction force FN is related to the number of teeth z of the pinion.
