The placement of the hubs of the GEARex all-steel gear coupling can make for a very short shaft distance, regular shaft distance and short shaft distance along with a different mounting position of hubs as per customer requirement. The hubs of the gear coupling can be locked and are connected to the coupling sleeve with threaded joints or interference fit. Due to the position of the hubs the all-steel gear coupling GEARex DA has a very short shaft distance dimension.

The hubs of this gear coupling can be axially fastened by thread for setscrews or interference fit.

Adjustments of material of sleeve and hubs allow for the transmission of high torques. Thanks to the cover design the gear coupling can easily be mounted. The spline can be visually inspected by dismounting the cover.

A gear coupling is a type of coupling that is often used with high torque or high-power output. Gear couplings are typically able to withstand more torque than universal joints, whereas universal joints produce less vibration. A gear coupling is made up of a two-part hub with internal and external teeth and an external or internal sleeve.

Fenner Curved Tooth Flexible Gear Couplings are the result of many years of experience in the field of Mechanical Power Transmission.

These Gear Couplings are distinguished by their mechanical flexibility and compensation of Angular, Parallel and Axial misalignments of the connected shafts. Flexible Gear Couplings basically consist of two hubs, with crowned external teeth and two outer sleeves with internal spur teeth. Gear Hubs and the outer sleeves are manufactured from carbon steel and are hardened to the required degree. They are machined to fine tolerances for proper meshing of the gears as well as for inter-changeability.

The ESCO gear coupling is a robust, grease-filled coupling, offering exceptional torsional rigidity. It consists of two hubs with external multi-crown teeth and two flanged sleeves with straight internal teeth. These sleeves are securely bolted together using high-strength, corrosion-protected fitted bolts and nuts. An endcap on the opposite side of the flange, either internal for small or screwed for larger couplings, houses an o-ring for sealing purposes. The ESCO gear coupling is designed to transmit torque through friction, preventing fretting corrosion. Its teeth maintain continuous contact, allowing for angular, parallel, and axial misalignment within specified limits. The standard ESCO gear can accommodate up to 1.5° angular and parallel misalignment. Why Gear Coupling ?A Gear Coupling is used to join two rotating shafts for efficient transmission of mechanical power. Although the shafts are accurately aligned at the time of installation, it is likely that during the operation the alignment may get disturbed due to setting of foundation, thermal expansion, shaft deflection, wearing out of other parts, improper maintenance and many more reasons. Due to this unavoidable misalignment occurring during the operation a gear coulping provides a better solution to compensate or minimise the effect of misalignment.The gear Couplings are therefore idealy suited for wide range of application in the entire field of drive technology.MisalignmentThe main function of any Gear coupling is not only to connect two rotating shafts but also to accommodate mis-alignments of the connecting shafts ELIGN Gear coupling accommodates the following three types of misalignment. A. RADIAL When axes of connected shafts are parallel but not in the same straight lineB. ANGULARWhen axes of connected shafts intersect at center point of coupling but not in the same straight line.  C. COMBINED RADIAL & ANGULAR When the axes of connected shafts do not intersect at point of coupling and are not parallel. Besides above three types of misalignment, the ELIGN Gear coupling also permits axial movement of the shaft. CAUTION : Normally permissible angular mis-alignment of ELIGN gear coupling is 0.75 for each half. However, it does not mean that the misalignment should be permitted to this limit from the initial installation. Since in case of misalignment occurring during operation the Elign gear coupling takes care of it without undue damage to the connected equipment, however the coupling’s life may reduce due to relative motion between hub teeth and housing teeth causing fast wearing out of teeth. It is therefore extremely important to align the interconnecting shafts precisily during initial installation.

The two-parted BoWex curved-tooth plug-in coupling is made of nylon and a low-cost version for small performance ranges. 

The single-cardanic gear coupling has a low net weight and is available from stock with finish bore for standard shafts and feather keyway acc. to DIN 6885 sheet 1 and thread for setscrews.

The BoWex junior gear coupling is suitable for compensating for axial and angular shaft displacements.

Sleeve-Flex can be installed quickly and easily, because there are no bolts, gaskets, covers or seals.
Alignments can be checked with a straight edge placed across the outside of the precision machined flanges.

The teeth of sleeve lock into the teeth of the flanges without clamps or screws, tightening under torque to provide smooth transmission of power. There is no rubbing action of metal against rubber to cause wear.
Couplings are not affected by abrasives, dirt or moisture.
